Victor Williams, Fullerton High School quarterback, threw a seven-yard touchdown pass to Curt Daggett with seven seconds left Friday night to rally the Indians to a 21-20 victory over Anaheim High at Fullerton District Stadium.
Trailing, 20-14, Williams hit Daggett in the left corner of the end zone to tie the game and Mick Mineni's extra point provided the margin of victory for Fullerton.
Anaheim had taken the lead with 3:34 remaining on a two-yard touchdown run by Ernest Johnston. Humberto Lopez, however, missed the extra point--and a chance for an eventual tie.
Fullerton, which won the 1984 Southern Section Central Conference championship with a 13-1 record, led, 14-0, at the half, on a 15-yard run by Mike Chacon and a one-yard run by Tom Hughes. Anaheim tied the game on Johnston's eight-yard pass to Steve Ybarra with 10:02 left in the fourth quarter.
