In response to "American Express Thrives on Diversity" (June 30), I want to refute the statement describing IDS Financial Planners as "homespun, Midwestern door-to-door salespeople." On the contrary, the West Los Angeles division of IDS very successfully provides professional financial planning services to a culturally diverse, economically disparate polyglot society of business owners and residents--the likes of which can't be found in the Midwest.
Hardly homespun. I can't imagine a major investment company attempting to market door-to-door in Los Angeles.
