Kurdish Rebels Free 2 Kidnaped Japanese

TOKYO — Two Japanese technicians kidnaped by anti-government Kurdish guerrillas in Iraq last spring have been released, the Foreign Ministry announced.

The men, employees of the NEC Corp., were repairing a telecommunications facility when they were kidnaped April 7, the ministry said.

The two were released into the custody of the Japanese Embassy in Iraq and will return to Japan after questioning on the incident by Iraqi authorities, the ministry said.
