LEXINGTON, Ky. — Brian McClure hit Greg Meehan with an 11-yard touchdown pass with 23 seconds left Saturday to give Bowling Green a 30-26 upset victory over Kentucky.
McClure, who completed 30 of 48 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns, connected with Meehan to give Bowling Green (2-0) a 28-26 lead.
Kentucky gave up the final two points on a safety when Cornell Burbage lateraled the ball out of the end zone on the final kickoff.
It was career win No. 100 for Bowling Green's Denny Stolz, who has coached for nine seasons at the Mid-American Conference school. "I'd have to rank this pretty close to the top," he said. "We had a great game plan. We were ready to win."
