AIX-EN-PROVENCE, France — Two stolen works by a Flemish master and a pupil of Rembrandt, valued at more than $275,000, were recovered at an abandoned work site, police said Saturday.

The paintings, a 15th-Century work by a primitive Flemish master entitled "The Virgin at the Offering Between St. Peter and St. Augustin," and a 17th-Century portrait of Rembrandt, were found Friday night in "excellent condition," a police spokesman said.
