Phase 1 of the $200-million University Corporate Center, which is being jointly developed in Pomona by the Macklin Cos. and Phil Four Twelve (a Howard Ahmanson Jr. company), will mark its opening on Oct. 2.
More than 500 invited guests are expected to attend a luncheon at the center, which is being built on a 50-acre site on South Campus Drive, ringed by the San Bernardino, Orange and Foothill freeways and the Corona Expressway.
Phase 1 consists of two buildings totaling 147,715 square feet, now available for lease, on 8.4 acres. When completed, University Corporate Center will include 1.4 million square feet of office and research-and-development space in eight buildings. Completion is anticipated in 1990.
POD Inc. of Santa Ana helped the Macklin Cos. with the master-plan design and also prepared the landscape designs. Leason Pomeroy Associates of Orange was architect for Phase 1, and Davcon Inc. was the builder. Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Services is handling leasing.
