September 22, 1985

There are 409 post-World War II high-rise office buildings in Los Angeles and Orange counties, with a total of 110,133,000 square feet of space, according to the latest office building report to be published Thursday by Western Economic Research Co. Inc.

The $40 report is the first revision since 1982 of "Hi-Rise Office Buildings in the Los Angeles-Orange County Region," according to Wilbur McCann of the demographics firm at 15910 Ventura Blvd., Encino.

Included are all buildings eight or more stories above ground, built from 1945 through the end of 1984, he said.

Downtown Los Angeles, with 79 buildings with a gross square footage of 37,231,000, has 33.8% of the space in the region. Beverly Hills-Century City and Orange County are second and third with 45 buildings, 12,087,000 square feet, 11% and 51 buildings, 10,518,000 square feet and 9.6%, respectively.
