Wrong choices galore.

Why wrong? Because, inevitably, most of the Emmy choices are not my choices. So listen, I never promised humility.

Here, in a few categories, are my picks followed by forecasts of the actual winners.

COMEDY SERIES My choice: "Family Ties." Winner: "The Cosby Show." Others: "Cheers," "Kate & Allie," "Night Court."

DRAMA SERIES My Choice: "Cagney & Lacey." Winner: "Miami Vice." Others: "Hill Street Blues," "Murder, She Wrote," "St. Elsewhere."

LIMITED SERIES My Choice: "The Jewel in the Crown." Winner: "The Jewel in the Crown." Others: "A Woman of Substance," "Ellis Island," "Robert Kennedy and His Times," "Space."

VARIETY, MUSIC OR COMEDY PROGRAM My Choice: "Late Night With David Letterman." Winner: "Motown Returns to the Apollo." Others: "The American Film Institute Salute to Gene Kelly," "Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music," "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson."

DRAMA OR COMEDY SPECIAL My Choice: "Do You Remember Love?" Winner: "The Burning Bed." Others: "Fatal Vision," "Heartsounds," "Wallenberg: A Hero's Story."
