Construction is under way at Pacific Centre, a $10-million, two-building, 62,000-square-foot office complex on 2.35 acres at 512-14 Via de la Valle, Solana Beach, between Interstate 5 and Pacific Coast Highway east of Del Mar. Completion and first move-ins are expected by March, 1986.
Of the total, 52,000 square feet will be leased as professional office suites and 10,000 square feet are planned as space for a financial institution and a gourmet restaurant. The developer said 70% of the office suites will have private balconies with views of the Pacific and of the Del Mar race track.
The developer is a joint venture of Southmark Pacific Corp., based in Pasadena; Ramsey Development Co., San Diego, and Winfried R. von Markatz. The designer is SGPA Planning & Architecture and the builder is Harper Development Co., both San Diego firms.
The complex will be noteworthy for its green-enameled aluminum roof. Exteriors will be enhanced by cedar siding and the buildings will be marked by planted courtyards and expansive use of glass. Other features will include operable windows, individualized climate control and flexible floor plans.
