The 600 teachers who stayed away from their classrooms in Pawtucket, R.I., for 13 days during a "no-contract, no-work" strike, were expected to be in school today after ratifying a three-year agreement. Ann Marie Burns, one of 53 teachers jailed last week by a Superior Court judge for refusing to obey a back-to-work order, and several of her colleagues said they were tired after the bitter strike that ended when negotiators for the Pawtucket Teachers Alliance and the School Committee reached agreement early last Friday.
