Six houses in the Malibu-Pacific Palisades area will be featured Oct. 20 on the annual home tour of the Women's Architectural League.
Featured are houses by architects Douglas Rucker, Carl Maston, Marshall Lewis, Ron Goldman, Johannes Van Tilburg and Buff & Hensman. This year's tour displays the spectrum of contemporary residential design in the coastal area, according to Heidi Moore, league president.
Proceeds from the tour are earmarked for scholarships, educational projects and philanthropic works of the league, which is sponsoring the event in cooperation with the Los Angeles chapter, American Institute of Architects.
Architects, league members and architectural students will lead the tour, open from noon to 5 p.m. Cameras, sharp heels and smoking are not permitted and children under 12 will not be allowed to take the tour.
Tickets for the tour can be obtained by sending a $10 check payable to WAL, along with a stamped, self-address long envelope to: WAL Home Tour Office, c/o AIA, Pacific Design Center, 8687 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles 90069.
