ANN ARBOR, Mich. — A Michigan-based environmental organization is taking its clean-up campaign to unheard-of heights.
The Earth Preservation Fund is recruiting to help clean up trash left by mountaineering expeditions at the Himalayan peak of Annapurna in Central Nepal.
Working with Nepalese associates and the Nepal Police Mountaineering Assn., participants will build disposal sites and carry debris out from sited around the 26,500-foot mountain.
Applicants must have camping and hiking experience. A volunteer will pay his or her own air fare and land costs, about $2,600.
