Admiralty Park. Benches, bike path, exercise equipment, one-mile jogging path. Located along the north side of Admiralty Way and Via Marina.

Ballona Wetlands. From September through May, free monthly tours of Los Angeles' last major wetlands offer a chance to see sea and shore birds, including blue herons with their six-foot wingspan and the endangered least tern, as well as learn about fish, plant and insect life. 9 a.m.-11 a.m; (213) 821-7695.

Burton W. Chase Park. Picnic shelters, fishing dock, free outdoor concerts May-October. Located along north side of Admiralty Way.

Bicycle Path. Maps of the 19.5-mile path that runs through Marina del Rey available free at the Marina del Rey Visitors Information Center at Admiralty and Mindanao ways.

Harbor beach. Picnic shelters, bicycle rentals and snack bar (seasonal), volleyball courts, children's play equipment, swimming ramp for disabled persons and wheelchair use. (Wheelchairs provided free--see lifeguard.) Located by Via Marina, Palawan Way, Panay Way and Admiralty Way.

Holiday Harbor Racquetball. Public racquetball courts. $4 per person off hours, $6 per person peak hours. 14045 Panay Way, (213) 821-1662, Monday-Friday 6 a.m.-midnight, Saturday-Sunday 7 a.m.-10 p.m.
