A third person was arrested Wednesday in the killing of Shirley Rizk, a 34-year-old Canoga Park woman whose body was found at the bottom of a Malibu canyon earlier this week after her car apparently was pushed over the side of a cliff, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
Homicide detectives arrested Matthew Adam Jay, 18, of Woodland Hills without incident at about 6:15 p.m. while he was attending a class at El Camino High School in Woodland Hills, Deputy Pete Fosselman said.
Fosselman would not disclose Jay's alleged role in the killing and would not say what led to his arrest at the high school. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and suspicion of attempted murder and was being held without bail at the Malibu sheriff's station, Fosselman said. Jay is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Van Nuys Municipal Court.
Also on Wednesday, Rizk's 16-year-old son, whose name is being withheld because he is a juvenile, was formally charged in Sylmar Juvenile Court with murdering his mother and attempting to murder his half brother.
