BRIEFLY

Lucky Stores said it agreed to sell 25 outlets.

October 24, 1985

The stores, in the Seattle-Tacoma area of Washington state, will be sold to Associated Grocers, a Seattle-based wholesaler, for an undisclosed amount of cash. Lucky Stores, a Dublin, Calif.-based firm, said it was impractical to serve the stores from distribution and manufacturing facilities in California. The sale concludes a three-year effort to redeploy company assets by selling operations that haven't produced a satisfactory return on investment or that are distant from support facilities. The sale is expected to be completed by about Nov. 3, the firm said.
