East San Bernardino County, especially the Fontana/Rialto area, registered a 66% acceleration in new-home sales during the second quarter of this year, according to Residential Trends, a quarterly housing report developed by Costa Mesa-based Market Profiles.
New-home sales there rose from 707 to 1,174, Fred Schlosser, marketing director for the report, said. This included an increase in attached sales from 67 to 128 and a jump in detached products from 640 to 1,046.
The whole county experienced a 48% increase, he continued, with 2,028 sales in contrast with 1,366 the previous quarter.
Western San Bernardino, primarily the Upland/Rancho Cucamonga area, showed a 29.5% increase in new-home sales from 659 to 854.
