Don Schoenhofer rushed for 142 yards and had three touchdowns--two in the second half--to help St. Mary's rally for a 21-20 victory over the University of San Diego in a nonconference college football game Saturday at St. Mary's.
St. Mary's, a Division II school, finished with a 2-8 record. USD, a Division III school, finished 5-5.
The Toreros took a 14-0 lead midway through the second quarter thanks to a 5-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Pat Dixon to Scott Reilly and a 1-yard touchdown run by senior running back Tom Woodward. Dixon completed 19 of 32 passes for 224 yards. Woodward gained 97 yards rushing in 30 carries.
