San Diego — The San Diego Padres have hired veteran shortstop Larry Bowa to manage their Class AAA farm team in Las Vegas, it was reported Thursday.
Bowa will succeed Bob Cluck, who managed the Stars for two years before being fired by the Padres.
Bowa spent 16 years in the major leagues, finishing last season with the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets. He spent 12 years with the Philadelphia Phillies.
