Women Voters League to Note 65th Birthday

November 20, 1985

The 65th birthday of the League of Women Voters will be celebrated with a fund-raising dinner Thursday at the Century Plaza Tower.

Joan B. Kroc, philanthropist and peace advocate, and Howard P. Allen, chairman and chief executive officer of Southern California Edison Co., will be honored for their public service achievements. Also participating in the program will be actress Barbara Bain; Carla A. Hills, former secretary of housing and urban development; Fay Kanin, past president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and Dorothy S. Ridings, president of the League of Women Voters of the United States. Newscaster Jess Marlow will be master of ceremonies. Proceeds from the $200-per-plate dinner will benefit the league's education fund.
