A fugitive couple from South Carolina were charged in the torture slaying of pizza deliveryman John Harrigan, 21, who allegedly was lured to their Glendale motel room where he was robbed and strangled. In filing murder charges against Mitchell Carlton Sims, 25, and Ruby Padgett, 20, prosecutors alleged special circumstances that could mean the death penalty if the pair are caught and convicted. Sims also is being sought in connection with a double murder and robbery at a South Carolina pizza parlor Dec. 3, a week before the bound and gagged body of Harrigan was found in Glendale.
