School Solutions Vote Put Off

December 18, 1985

The Los Angeles school board will not vote on a proposal for year-round school and other possible solutions to overcrowding until its Jan. 6 regular board meeting or later, district spokesman Bill Bolton said Tuesday.

The board had planned to act on 22 guidelines and 15 options relating to school crowding on Monday, but that meeting was canceled because of the death of board member Roberta Weintraub's son in a weekend auto accident.

Year-round sessions, increasing class size, changing ethnic ratios and staggering school hours are among the proposals the board will consider in its search for ways to make room for the additional 82,000 students expected by 1990.
