All Those Toys--but None for Sale

December 19, 1985

People come from miles around to see the dazzling Christmas display at the Hensley Co., a wholesale graphic arts manufacturing business in South Pasadena. The display is set up each year by owner Dean Hensley, his brother Steven and employee Tim Parisi, who started getting into the Christmas spirit seven years ago.

They began by decorating the building exterior and two trees, but each year the project has grown, and now they now spend about a month getting ready for the holidays. Inside is Hensley's collection of antiques, which includes dolls, pedal cars, puppets and mechanized toys, many of which are visible in the store's front windows. Hensley said the decorations are not for sale: "This is our Christmas card to the community."
