December 19, 1985|Associated Press

MANILA — Former Foreign Minister Carlos P. Romulo was buried today while a Filipino tenor sang "Indian Love Call," and after eulogies from President Ferdinand E. Marcos and representatives of seven foreign governments.

More than 1,500 mourners filed into the Cultural Center of the Philippines for funeral services that included a one-minute standing ovation for Romulo, who died Sunday, a month before his 87th birthday.

U.S. Undersecretary of State Michael Armacost, a former ambassador to the Philippines, read a letter from President Reagan calling Romulo "a giant of this century."
