Move over Jaws.

By mid-June, the Universal Studios Tour expects to have ready a 30-foot, animated King Kong that will "snarl, growl, smile" and "really terrify" tram riders, said a Universal spokesman. Visitors will pass so close to the creature, the spokesman promised, that they'll feel the big ape's breath.

Ground was broken last week for the $7-million project. Kong will be housed in his own lower-lot studio that duplicates Lower East Side New York. Computer-controlled, the figure is a brand-new creation (not from the movie). Additional special effects also are planned.
