Compiled by five female members of the activist group for the elderly who share the belief that meals high in taste and nutrition need not be costly or complicated to prepare. More than 100 recipes, set in large, easy-to-read type, emphasize the use of minimum salt and sugar, along with fresh, seasonal vegetables. Most can be prepared in 30 minutes and require only one pan or bowl.
The recipes originally were used in demonstrations at senior centers throughout San Francisco, intended to improve nutrition among elderly.
