Frank Cozza, a 6-foot 4-inch, 260-pound defensive tackle who helped Fullerton College to back-to-back Pac-9 Conference championships, has signed a national letter of intent to attend Cal State Fullerton.
"Frank combines strength and quickness and has the ideal temperament for a defensive lineman," Titan Coach Gene Murphy said of the former Loara High School star. "He was our No. 1 prospect at defensive tackle. He plays the run real well and is extremely good at rushing the passer. We're excited to get him."
Cozza chose Fullerton after visits to New Mexico, Nevada Las Vegas, University of the Pacific and San Jose State. He is the fifth community college player signed by the Titans. The others are cornerback Tony Williams (College of the Desert), center Don Hamann (San Diego Mesa), running back Tracy Pierce (Phoenix College) and offensive tackle James Good (Mt. San Jacinto).
Another Fullerton College standout, offensive lineman Steve Anderson, signed a letter of intent Monday. Anderson, 6-6 and 245 pounds, visited Alabama, Southern Methodist, Virginia and Mississippi before choosing Cal.
