Defending Champion Wins at Bronc Riding

DENVER — Defending National Western Stock Show Rodeo bareback bronc riding champion Wayne Herman of Rapid City, S.D., rode a horse called Riff Raff for a score of 76 points at Saturday night's performance to take the lead in the event again this year.

Herman's ride bumped Robin Burwash of Airdrie, Alberta, Canada, into second place with 74 points.

The only other standings change after Saturday night's performance was in women's barrel racing. Jeana Day of Woodward, Okla., posted a ride of 15.71 seconds to take over first place. Margo Deckert of Corpus Christi, Texas, held onto second at 15.84 seconds.
