The City Council on Tuesday filled vacancies on several commissions. David Winkler was reappointed and Frank Rizzardi was named to the Airport Commission; Gerry Rische was named to the Civil Service Commission; Jack Fry was appointed a Disaster Council commissioner; William Craig was named to the Environmental Quality and Energy Conservation Commission.
Gelinda Quintile and O. James Vogl were appointed fine-arts commissioners; Sophie Kutaka was named to the Library Commission; Gene Drevno and Cris Eliopulos were reappointed as Parks and Recreation commissioners; Bob Ritchie was reappointed to the Planning Commission; Lawrence Gitschier, Velma Harber and Charles Hosler were given second terms on the Senior Citizens Council; William Johnson and Gerald Snyder were appointed to the Traffic Commission; Perry Baker was reappointed to the Water Commission.
A vacancy on the Human Resources Commission was not filled. Only one person applied for the vacancy, and the council said it wanted to have at least three candidates. The position will be re-advertised and an appointment will be made later.
