Tension between South Korea's political parties increased as seven opposition lawmakers were indicted in connection with a December National Assembly melee in which opposition representatives allegedly used violence to block quick passage of the government's 1986 budget. Kim Dong Young, floor leader of the major opposition New Korea Democratic party, submitted his resignation in response to the indictments.
