The City Council has voted to install temporary barricades on McDonald Street at Sawtelle Boulevard to control traffic.
Last January about 100 McDonald Street residents told the city that heavy commuter traffic was disrupting and endangering the neighborhood.
The city subsequently had consultants prepare a report on how to lessen traffic in the area, which included comments from residents. The study recommends that right turns from Sawtelle Boulevard onto McDonald be eliminated, along with all left turns at the intersection.
The traffic controls approved by the council will be temporary so that they can be evaluated before the city commits funds for major construction at the site.
