Steve Barnett scored 24 points and Greg Burton added 19 points Wednesday night as Santa Ana High School remained unbeaten in league with a 61-59 victory over Villa Park at Villa Park.
The Spartans missed a shot at the buzzer that could have tied the game.
Jeff Steward led Santa Ana (5-0) with 18 points. Sophomore Willie Lane added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Saints.

Foothill 72, Canyon 57--The Knights outscored the Comanches, 31-20, in the fourth quarter to cruise to the victory at Canyon. Derek Johnson and Mike Grahovac led the Knights with 20 and 17 points, respectively. Steve Ream scored 12 points for Canyon. Foothill is 5-0 and 13-3.
El Modena 62, Santa Ana Valley 49--The Vanguards outscored the Falcons, 22-9, in the second quarter to pull away for the win at El Modena. Ryan Rycraw scored 23 points for the Vanguards. The Saints' Alonzo Jamison led all scorers with 28 points. El Modena is 3-2 and 6-7.
Tustin 59, Orange 52--Rog Middleton scored 23 points and Kevin Anderson added 17 to lead the surprising Tillers to the win at Orange. Tustin is 4-1 and 10-5. Tustin won only three games in each of the last two seasons. Dave Roth scored 22 points to lead the Panthers (1-3, 6-10).
