The Soviet Union's No. 2 team outsprinted a Norwegian foursome to take the 7.5-kilometer biathlon relay at Anterselva, Italy, in competition counting toward the world championship.

The Soviets' were timed in 1 hour 35 minutes 16.6 seconds with two penalties. Norway was timed in 1:35:22.3 with one penalty.
