Lomita : Guest-House Controls

January 23, 1986

Acting on a Planning Commission recommendation, the City Council asked the city attorney this week to prepare an urgency ordinance to halt issuance of permits for guest-house construction, pending adoption of stricter controls.

Planning Commissioner Pete Rossick said permit applicants have taken advantage of loose restrictions on guest houses and have used them illegally as rental properties.

In another action, the council appointed 24-year resident Jack Mackel, a general contractor, to a four-year term on the Parks and Recreation Commission.
