A drive by Soviet and Afghan goverrnment troops has killed as many as 100 Afghan rebels, guerillas sources said. They reported that a large Soviet-Afghan force, backed by tanks, jet fighters and helicopters, has been attacking guerrilla positions near the Pakistan border since Saturday in an apparent attempt to cut rebel supply routes from Pakistan. Various sources put guerrilla losses between 30 and 100 dead, with 22 Communist troops reported killed.
