Generation Gap and Social Security

January 25, 1986

Young Mr. Sorensen, I am 61 years old and my husband is 62. I have paid into Social Security since I was a senior in high school with the exception of my child-rearing years. I intend to continue contributing for as long as the good Lord allows. After reviewing Sorensen's self-serving philosophy, I only hope I can begin to collect my Social Security before he loses the capability of contributing--one must work to hold a job to do that. His obvious attitude would lead me to suspect he might not make it.
