Long Beach : Quake Plan to Be Updated

January 30, 1986

The City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to establish a task force that will study how residents and officials can better prepare for a major earthquake.

The 13-member task force, which will be composed of representatives from the city's nine council districts and four at-large members, will work to update the city's existing earthquake disaster plan. The group also will publicize various steps that residents can take to become better prepared for a major temblor. Councilman Marc Wilder asked that the task force be formed.
