The Palisades Beautiful Committee, a volunteer group that has planted more than 700 trees on public property in Pacific Palisades, is taking orders for city parkway and front-yard trees for its February planting. For the parkways--the public property lining Palisades roads--a tree in a five-gallon container, root barrier, support pole, soil conditioner and labor cost $35. The committee obtains the necessary permit. Front-yard trees cost $10 less because no root barrier is required. The committee is also seeking volunteers. More information is available from committee chairwoman Dorothy Bissell at 454-5157.
