Simi Tape-Drive Maker Lands NCR Contract

Wangtek, a Simi Valley maker of cartridge tape drives used in computer memory systems, signed a three-year agreement to supply NCR with drives for its personal computers.

The value of the contract reportedly is more than $10 million. The tape drives will serve as a backup NCR's disk drives, which are devices that retrieve and store data in personal computers.
