Pacific Palisades : Actor to Lead Walk for Hunger

February 13, 1986

Actor Daniel J. Travanti of television's "Hill Street Blues" will lead the 11th Pacific Palisades Hunger Walk on March 2.

Participants raise money by asking sponsors to pledge a given amount for every mile walked. Volunteers can obtain sponsor envelopes and information at most Palisades churches and at Medford's Gift Store, 1019 Swarthmore Ave.

Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. at Corpus Christi School, 890 Toyopa Drive. The 10-kilometer course will wind through the village shopping district.

Last year, more than 500 volunteers raised $22,000. Of this year's proceeds, 75% will go to CROP, an anti-hunger agency that helps feed people in 71 nations and 25% will be divided among the House of Ruth, St. Joseph's Center in Venice and the Westside Food Bank.
