Fiedler-Davis Case and Chief Justice Bird

February 15, 1986

Columnist George Will's characterization (Editorial Pages, Feb. 2) of Rose Bird as the quintessential liberal run amok is right on target.

Her xenophobic devotion to legal detail and procedural excess is well documented and suggests that replacing her with a computer is another alternative that would provide the citizens of California with a less expensive and more efficient jurist.
