"Mason Adams Reads the Stories of John Cheever." Listen for Pleasure. Adams, the raspily intimate voice of many products and current co-star of "F/X," combined with the literary voice of Cheever, speaking of Eastern urban and exurban fears, longings and follies, is as perfect a melding of sound and content as a listener could hope for. Adams reads "The Enormous Radio," "The Housebreaker of Shady Hill" and two other classic Cheever tales, capturing the flavor and the nuances of Cheever's darkly poetic musings on smudged relationships, martini rituals and precarious affluence. Wonderful.
