Carson, Crenshaw in Rematch Tonight in City 4-A Playoffs

Crenshaw High School, which beat Carson by eight points in one of its closest wins, will play the Colts again tonight in the City 4-A basketball semifinals, one of four games at the Sports Arena.

The girls' 4-A game, between Washington and Banning at 4 p.m., will open the program, followed by top-seeded Kennedy against Crenshaw. In the boys' competition, Cleveland is scheduled to meet San Pedro at 7:30, followed by the Crenshaw-Carson game.

The Southern Section will have quarterfinal games tonight in all divisions. In the 5-A division, No. 1 Santa Ana Mater Dei will play Long Beach St. Anthony at Long Beach City College, Encino Crespi will meet Playa del Rey St. Bernard at Bishop Montgomery in Torrance, Long Beach Poly will play Huntington Beach Edison at Estancia of Costa Mesa, and Downey Pius X will play Gardena Serra at El Camino College.
