The PUC rejected a Pacific Bell rehearing bid.

March 07, 1986

The California Public Utilities Commission turned down Pacific Bell's request to reconsider last January's ordered $123.8-million cut in the phone company's revenue. Pacific said the decision contained $20 million in computational errors and $193 million in factual errors. In rejecting the request, the commission conceded certain computational errors and adjusted the cut to $120.6 million. Because $94 million of this will reflect reduced payments to the company from long-distance carriers, residential customers will see "only a penny or two" in credit on their bills once the new rates take effect March 15, a spokesman said.
