Books for Looks

March 07, 1986|BETTY JEAN BARNHILL

Color Wonderful, The Revolutionary Color 1 Associates Wardrobe and Makeup Program by JoAnne Nicholson and Judy Lewis-Crum with Jacqueline Thompson (Bantam: $9.95).

This color-system book probably makes terrific sense after a color consultant has selected one's colors, but which may be somewhat confusing to those attempting it on their own. In the Color 1 approach, individuals are divided into four basic types: gentle, muted, contrast and light-bright, plus sub-types. Once one has determined the appropriate type and sub-type, there is valuable advice here on selecting the best type of jewelry, the most flattering prints, best fabric textures, furs, eyeglass frames, makeup, shoes and more.
