Circuit City's president was cleared by the SEC.

Richard L. Sharp had been charged with trading stock based on information about the record performance of the Richmond, Va.-based company a day before the quarterly report was due to be released in June, 1983. The national retailer of video, audio and consumer electronics products and appliances began opening stores in Southern California several months ago. Sharp was cleared by U.S. District Judge D. Dortch Warriner in Richmond.
