Liberty Street Chronicle Has Ceased Publication

March 13, 1986

Liberty Street Chronicle, a monthly business magazine based in Irvine, has ceased publication after failing to find either new investors or a buyer.

Susan Menning, Chronicle editor and part owner, said production and payroll expenses simply outran advertising revenue, a problem that was exacerbated when Steven Sullivan, publisher of the magazine, suffered a heart attack in December.

The magazine was distributed free through the mail, on newsstands and on Mid Pacific Airline flights.

The Chronicle began publication in November, 1983; its last edition was in January.

The publication's demise leaves at least 11 other business publications in Orange County to grapple for advertising dollars and reader attention.
