Bell : Park Center Site Dedicated

March 13, 1986

The site of the city's first community center was dedicated Tuesday with a ground-breaking ceremony attended by city officials and residents.

For the past four years, Bell has set aside community block grant funds to pay for the $1-million center, said Byron Woosley, city administrator. The center, scheduled to open in August, will be built at Treder Park on Pine Avenue.

Besides housing the city's Parks and Recreation Department headquarters, the center will be open for use by various community groups.
