Two bodyguards for rock star Prince were sentenced to work 100 hours at a battered-women's clinic for assaulting two photographers who tried to snap pictures of the reclusive musician. Lawrence Gibson, 27, of San Francisco, and Wallace Safford, 26, of Detroit, also were sentenced to two years of informal probation and fined $500 by Beverly Hills Municipal Court Commissioner John Murphy. The two pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery charges last month in the January, 1985, incident.
