Larry Bird could have missed a half-dozen shots Thursday night and the Celtics still would have won.
As it was, the Boston forward missed only twice, finishing with 33 points as the Celtics overpowered the Spurs, 135-119, at San Antonio.
Bird--whose only misses were a free throw and a three-point attempt, long after the game had been decided--made four three-point shots, eight field goals and five free throws.
The rest of the Celtics didn't miss much in the first half, either, as they raced to an 80-69 lead. Boston hit 32 of 40 attempts before halftime for a blistering 80% from the field.
