VATICAN CITY — Pope John Paul II will visit Rome's synagogue next month, becoming the first Roman Catholic pontiff ever to enter a Jewish place of worship, the Vatican announced today. The pontiff has met on numerous occasions with rabbis and other representatives of Jewish communities.
